Max is a 2 year old black and tan coated neutered male shepherd. Raised by his current owner since he was a puppy, Max has always been around children and people and would make a good family pet. He is a very handsome, affectionate and smart boy. He knows sit, down, stay, shake paw, spin around, give the ball and leave it. Max is also housebroken and crate trained. His one flaw is that he does not take an immediate liking to other dogs. Once he spends time and gets comfortable with another dog he will eventually get along with them. * GSGSR does not adopt outside the immediate New Jersey area. We may consider adoption locations bordering New Jersey and parts of Staten Island.
* We DO NOT do long distance adoptions because we do home visits prior to the dog going to its new home.
* The age requirement for adoption is 25 to 70 years old.
* We require all adopters attend professional training with their adopted dog.
* We are an all volunteer organization and every effort is made to proceed as efficiently as possible with an application. As with all rescues, we do require veterinary references if you have a pet, personal reference, a phone interview and home visit. This process has been created to insure that we match each applicant with the best possible dog.
